Think beyond the Tie this Father's Day

.... invest in his skin instead!

Aloette has an array of amazing skincare products that men enjoy ... our First Aid duo is a popular choice for the man on the go ... great healing results for burns, cuts, bruises and so much more. Must have products not only for the bathroom vanity but awesome to keep in the golf cart, garage, boat or workshop too!

My spouse just got a nasty spider bite this past weekend working in the yard ~ Aloette's nutri-hydrating mist soothed the itch immediately and the Visible Aid was great at helping with reducing the swelling and together they have helped speed up the healing within 24 hours there was barely evidence of the bite.

I would love to help hook the man in your life up with something this Father's Day.

Pink Ink Skicare Comparison Chart ~ great resource!

http://pinkinkbrand.blogspot.ca/2014/05/skin-love-who-sells-best-skincare.html
A few months back the lovely ladies at Pink Ink started a skincare love blog series where they talked about what 'good skincare' entails. You can view the start of the blog series here.

Cole's Notes version is based on Pink Ink experience and research a good skincare regime recommends you cleanse daily morning and evening, that you exfoliate regularly depending on skintype, freshen or tone your skin daily morning and evening, moisturize daily morning and evening and finally protect your skin from the damage of the sun.

They than reviewed Mary Kay, Seacret, Luminesce, Arbonne, Aloette, Enjo and Skincerity  to see the results of these products on their skin during the trial period and gave readers feedback on the pros and cons. In the final installment they compared how the various lines met that criteria as well as their effectivenss at doing so, the value for ones budget and the ease of finding the ingredients on the packaging and so forth and created the cool little infographic based on their experience in their final blog entry "who sells the best skincare products" which can be read in its entirty here.

This is what they had to say about Aloette on their blog:

What everyone should know about Aloette - Well, as the name indicates it is made with Aloe!!!  Aloe is actually the number 1, 2, or 3 ingredient in the products in the skin care line (if you look on the ingredients list of any product, the first listed product is the primary ingredient, the second listed is the secondary product etc...)  We spoke with a representative from Aloette and did some research.  We found out that Aloette's aloe based delivery system allows it to be categorized  as a medical grade skin care line as opposed to a cosmetic skin care line.  The aloe in combination with other natural ingredients has properties to replenish, renew and repair damaged skin!
The other interesting fact that you should know is that Aloette features a "farm to jar" philosophy, meaning that they grow their own Aloe Vera specifically for their products.  It is certified organic, paraben free and clinically shown to be three to ten times more potent than any other traditionally grown Aloe on the market - NICE!!
So if you read our last blog you know our feelings about companies saying that they are organic or natural.  Although there are quite a few ingredients in th eAloette product line, the first, second or third ingredient IS ALOE.  This is a really good thing.  Why?  Aloe has been cited as an amazing healing agent for the skin.  Many use pure aloe to help heal topical burns.  Aloe Vera also speeds the recovery of skin wounds and stimulates cellular rejuvenation.  Again - NICE.
Let's look at the products in the Aloette Aloepure skin care line.
Aloe Pure 8pc Skincare Line

Gentle Foaming Cleanser - This cleanser gently removes oils and impurities while restoring the skin's natural moisture balance.  It has chamomile and green tea extracts for a clean feeling and aloe vera (of course) to soothe irritation.
We tried this cleanser and loved it!!!  After using it, our skin did not feel tight but more refreshed and clean.  We both used the cleanser with a cloth for optimal cleansing.  We also noticed a citrus smell to this cleanser.  Retails:  $22
Essential Cleansing Oil -  So although this product has various oils in it's ingredient list (safflower, evening primrose, sunflower seed and avacado) it is not oily!  It cleanses and removes makeup amazingly well while plumping lashes and leaving skin refreshed.  The product is water soluble, does not leave a residue and moisturizes the skin as it cleanses!!  You use this product in the evening while using the gentle foaming cleanser in the morning.  LUV this product.  Truly loved it, truly works, truly love.  Did we say we love this product yet?  Retails $23.50

Skin Refining Toner - After cleansing, the skin refining toner is used to remove any remaining traces of makeup, dead surface cells and any pore clogging impurities.  It does this without drying the skin.  It has ingredients to nourish the skin.

We honestly felt that this toner definitely helps to refine pores and leaves the skin feeling that much cleaner after cleansing.
Retail:  $21.00

Time Repair anti-wrinkle serum - Serums absorb past the first layer of skin and when fortified with vitamins and healing properties, will repair damage and protect new skin.  This particular serum reportedly diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  How?  Let's explain the real cause of wrinkles.  Lack of moisture can cause skin to wrinkle like a prune.  A build up of dead skin cells on the skin's surface can cause shadows on the skin making it appear like you have deep wrinkles.  So when you add moisture, vitamins, aloe vera and certain types of acids (alpha and beta hydroxy acids) together on your skin you are accomplishing the goal of diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Aloette's Time Repair Serum is formulated for all skin types, non irritating, and is lightweight which absorbs quickly into the skin.
After using this product, I can not say I've seen diminishment in the appearance of any fine lines and wrinkles BUT I have seen a difference in the texture of my skin and my skin feels so smooth!
Retails:  $50

Nutri C Moisture Creme - I love when I use a moisturizer and my skin feels like it's taking a tall drink of water.  This moisturizer hydrated and did not feel greasy at all.  It soaked into my skin within seconds of application.  Love it.
Retails:  $25

Nutri Hydrating Mist - It is truly a mist that you spray on when you complete the above steps.  Leaves skin hydrated and fresh.  It has vitamins A, E, C and B5 complex that work to increase cell regeneration and reduce visible signs of aging.  The aloe vera and silk amino acids increase the skin's moisture levels and is good for all skin types!  Very nice product - very nice!!
Retails:  $24

Pink Ink's thoughts:  The Aloette product is wonderful.  It is nourishing, hydrating and definitely has improved the texture of our skin.  The one downfall is that there are so many steps!  The nice thing is that after a few days of using the products, you get accustomed to the steps and it does not take long.  Loving the Aloette - Pink Ink approved!

View the blog post in it's entirety here!

I just love the honest and unbiased review they have done on the lines they experienced ... in my experience it is so true that there are many amazing products on the market and everyone's skincare experience is unique. As a result what one person may find works well another person can get even better results with another line. I myself tried many different lines before finding the amazing results I have with Aloette for my sensitive and challenging skin to truly get not just clean skin but skin that is replenished, renewed and REPAIRED which was my goal.

I did want to point out that while you can buy the pieces reviewed 'individually', for the cost quoted above for the 5 preferred pieces they enjoyed, there are several skincare lines available in Aloette depending on your budget and the results you want to see. When you bundle into one of our Value Packages you can see even more significant savings to get you the best results for the best price!

Plus I promise that while yes there are 8 amazing products in the total skincare line to ensure you get those amazing healing results it honestly takes only 3 minutes in the morning and in the evening to complete all the steps they are quick and easy AND if you are concerned you might be overwhelmed you have your consultant available to answer questions and give you tips and tools on how to remember ~ I personally loved that Jennifer my consultant suggested when I starting out to buy pretty basket for on my vanity and take a sharpie and write on products 1, 2, 3 and so forth to help me remember the best order for the best results ... AND she made a pact with me to use them daily for 28 days faithfully so I had a little calendar I would 'check off' that I had done it to create my new habit of investing in myself and my skin ~ easy peasy and now i cannot imagine 'forgetting' to wash my face.

Also the products lasting 3-4 months is a VERY conservative time line depending on the product and how much you use ... with Aloette a little can go a very long way and still get you amazing results. So for example I go through more of my morning cleanser and Hydrating mist because I use it on more of my body than just my 'face' so am more likely to relace those every 3-4 months however my other products in my line I have been able to see more of a 6 -9 months use from such as my anti-aging serums I am currently heading into month 10 and still have a few more applications in there. Aloette really does give a lot of VALUE for the amazing healing results that you can see from our product line.

If you are in the London Ontario area and would like a personal skincare consultation to see how you Aloette can get you amazing results for your skin too please give me a shout via email or phone and I would love to let you try before you buy.

B-acne Be Gone

Whoot whoot the weather is warming up and tank top season will be here before we know it but with that comes different skin care issues than we faced over the winter months!

During the warmer weather and increased sweating also comes increased access to outside environmental toxins assualting our skin so it is normal to see an increase in breakouts on our necks, chest, shoulders and of course our backs ~ the hardest area to actually 'self treat' but there is hope!

B-acne ~ how does it differ from normal acne?

There are a couple differences first being that the pores on our back are normally much wider/larger than on our face combined with the challenge that our backs are very hard to reach on your own to properly cleanse and they also contain thousands of oil producing glands which during certain times of the year can get a little out of control with overproduction ~ and wham you have a breeding ground for b-acne.

So a treatment plan needs to be based on getting the oil production under control while still ensuring a healthy balance of nutrients for the skin.

B-Acne Be Gone in 3 easy steps

1: Hot and Steamy wins the race

If you are like me you will look for any excuse to perform this step even if you do not suffer from b-acne it is an awesome stress reliever ~ 15 minutes of quiet time in the hot steamy bathtub count me in! If the purpose of this soak is to treat your b-acne avoid the harsh bubble bath chemicals though battle that oil build up by adding 5-10 drops of tea tree oil and a cup of Himalayan pink sea salt which is a natural way to help exfoliate and has many of its own health benefits. More info on Himalayan Pink Sea Salts benefits can be found here or a Google search will bring you lots of great info on them.

Maybe put some candles on or some light music or a good book whatever relaxes you and soak for at least 15 minutes the ideal time is 45 ~ ensure you are able to have your back fully submerged in the hot water and drink lots of water while soak to avoid dehydration as well as if you add some lemon to your water it will help with detoxing your body. This soak will fully open your pores and allow you to supply your skin with the proper nutrients to fight acne.

At this point enlist the aid of a loved one at this point or if you have a back brush you can use that to apply the Aloette Multi Action Scrub which is a natural almond meal and kaolin that will gently exfoliate and unclog pores combined with honey which is a natural antibacterial, papaya extract for an anti inflammatory to give your back a nice exfoliating scrub and than rinse yourself off and cleanse the rest of your body if desired before you dry off.

2 Moisture is Magnificent

So in step one you cleansed and exfoliated but you also stripped your body of some essential nutrients during the detox which we need to replace at this point in order to heal and strengthen your skin and to prevent any of your b-acne from scarring.

One of the best ways to replenish those essential nutrients after cleansing / exfoliating is to use a great moisturizer meant for your skin  type! Many people with oily skin or acne mistakenly assume that they do not need to 'moisturize' because they are oily enough already but 'oil' is not moisture and it is certainly is not going to replace the missing essential nutrients that cleansing might have removed.

When choosing a great hydrating moisturizer you want to make sure to cover the B-ACE's so to speak ... so you want one with Vitamins B, A, C and E in it as these are nutrients essential to healthy skin.

Our Aloe Pure line Nutri-hydrating Mist is AMAZING product to hydrate with at this step as it is 90% Aloe Vera and also contains vitamins A C and E ... which will cover all your "B-ACE's".

The Aloe Vera plant contains one of the highest concentrations of Vitamin B which is what makes it an awesome delivery agent for skincare. This is one of the reasons why I LOVE Aloette ~ people like myself with Celiac tend to be deficient in several different vitamins so this is a helpful supplement to naturally absorb through our skin. Plus our Aloe Vera is certifed organic and paraben free and clinically proven to be 6-10 times more effective that other Aloe on the market PLUS it is number 1,2 or 3 in all our skincare products so you are  not only getting  high quality Aloe but a high quantity power of the plant in all your skicare products which equals amazing healing results for your skin.

So you've hydrated your skin with a product that contains the essential nutrients now you want to lock in those nutrients with a moisturizer. Again Aloette has two that I love the first being our Body Souffle which is just heavenly scented with a nourishing blend of organic orange oil, mango seed butter and essential ginger and coriander extracts it is just lovely. We also have our Hand and Body Silk made with soothing Aloeganic aloe vera and coconut oil with a gentle floral fragrance it is lightweight, non-greasy and will keep your skin soft, supple and sweet smelling throughout the day!

3: Now go Dance in the D!

Vitamin D3 that is ~ one of the main reasons why our body overproduce oil is that we are deficient in Vitamin D3 ... Vitamin D specially D3 is essential to our body to create hormone balance and therefore a deficiency creates challenges in our over all health.

Vitamin D3 ironically is created best directly from the SUN however between the growing use of sunscreen and just 'barriers' like clothes it is very hard for the body to create and absorb enough for us which is why exfoliating the 'dead skin' is essential to help aid in the creation and absorption of vitamin D as it removes the dead skin cell layers and primes the surface for Vitamin D growth.

So once you are all exfoliated you need to make sure to spend some time each day in the direct sun ~ do not over do it 10-15 minutes of direct sunlight is plenty as you do not want to burn your skin. Sadly growing research shows that too much sunscreen may actually prevent the absorption of Vitamin D along with some other factors which why a growing number of us are 'deficient' in this Vitamin causing many ailments aside from just acne. So you definitely want this 15 minutes to be direct sunlight ~ apply your sunscreen after that time frame specially if you are going to be outside longer than 15 minutes. More info on the correlation of things that impede Vitamin D absorption can be found here.

It is also very important that you do not have a shower again for at least 3 or more hours after completing the direct sun step. IMO this is another reason why we are growing more and more deficient in these essential vitamins is that we 'shower to often' in North America. Since both Vitamin B and D3 take time to absorb properly into your body having a shower to quickly after being out in the sun will wash away the nourishing benefits before they have enough time to enter into your system ~ try to keep showering and bathing to ONCE a day max and ideally in the morning after your body has had time out in the sun during the day and your vitamin D can be absorbed through the night while you sleep.

Consistently repeat those steps as part of your skin care routine each week up to 2-4 times a week depending on the severity of your oil and b-acne and you should find yourself having clear healthy skin in no time.
